Managing menopause can be a challenge for many women, but Coastal Natural therapies provides advice and care for women on the Gold Coast and surrounding areas. According to Better Health Channel Victoria, women will experience symptoms such as:Naturally Managing Menopause

  • Hot flushes
  • Weight gain
  • Fatigue
  • Headaches
  • Breast pain
  • Forgetfulness
  • Mood swings
  • Itchy skin and hair loss
  • Dry eyes
  • Insomnia
  • Muscle and joint pain.

Dependent on the individual symptoms a woman is experiencing, different treatment plans can be put in to place to help combat personal discomforts. Many woman start taking hormones without being prescribed and this can cause further imbalances and further disruptions to their body.

There are four stages that occur throughout the duration of menopause. These include:

1 Peri Menopause: The pre menopause stages where symtoms include menstrual irregularity and hormonal changes appear

2 Menopausal transition: During the menstrual change from regular to irregular to finally stopping.

3 Menopausal Syndrome: Cluster of symptoms associated with menopausal transition.

4 Post Menopause/Menopausal: Once no menstruation has occurred for one year.

Many women do not realise the different stages and the different natural treatments that can be used to accommodate each stage. Hormonal replacement therapies must be used diligently so it is advised you seek advice. The secret to therapeutic success is to eat well, eat less and move more!

Symptoms can be managed with:

  • healthy balanced diet
  • regular exercise
  • looking after your mental health
  • reducing your stress levels
  • good quality sleep
  • using light-weight pyjamas and bedding to help with night sweats
  • avoiding the things that trigger your hot flushes
  • quit smoking
